Porcelain jardinière with polychrome and gold decoration, and chased and gilded bronze mount. It is decorated with gold-framed cartouches featuring a gallant couple on one side, and a bird on a branch on the other. The interior is decorated with a garland around the bowl, with a bouquet of flowers in the center. Below the bowl, a young man plays the horn to a woman in the shade of a tree. Both figures are depicted naked, draped and wearing laurel wreaths. The branches of the tree extend over the sides of the bowl, forming the handles. The handles are decorated with putti ending in foliage. The ensemble rests on a stepped base with six leafy feet.

Condition report: this planter is in good overall condition. The porcelain is in very good condition. The gilding is in good original condition, with a few small traces of wear inside the medallions. The bronze frame has a few visible micro-cracks around the rim.
